Home Staging Strategies For Selling Your Home

By Jesse Semmens Leave a Comment

Do you find yourself thinking about what you need to do to prepare your home for sale? Here are some home staging tips courtesy of Jeanette Fisher, a Psychology expert which you can use to get the highest price for your home. Contact Dave the property guy to assist also.

To whom do you want to sell your house to?

As a home owner who is preparing to sell your home, you have two options.
1.  Sell your house for the highest price to your set target market
2. Sell your house to bargain buyers with minimal income or to investors at a bargain

If your choice is to sell to bargain buyers and investors, talk to a real estate agent who is in the business of putting up advertisements for bargain homes. He or she will put your house under the current market value and then you can just sit back and wait for your home to be sold at the lowest price. You will even notice that you will receive a lot more offers quoting a lower price than what you are asking for in the first place.

If you are willing to put some effort into making a sale, chances are you will fetch top dollar. Find ways to come up with a home that a buyer would call his or her dream home. Most buyers are controlled by their emotions when they are shopping around for a home. Play to this by home staging your house as a house which your buyer would buy in a heartbeat.

If you want to sell your house at the current market as fast as possible, remove all personal things from your home. That’s aside from removing all the clutter, artwork, trophies, family portraits, and personal effects. When a potential buyer walks into a home that does not contain these things, he or she will have a lot more room to envision the house with their own personal stuff.

Home staging techniques include creating open spaces that incorporate activities that a potential home buyer would see as a different lifestyle. When all is said and done you want buyers to think that if they buy your home they will have a new life experience.

Get packing and remove any form of clutter as a home staging technique and this will go a long way in preparing your home for a highly priced sale. This method is a form of design pyschology which works in such a way that it will make the potential home buyer think of the house in the way they have always pictured it in their minds. You want them to think this way after all. In most cases in fact, doing these simple things will result in a lot more people calling you and giving you offers, some of which may be higher than the amount you were asking for in the first place. Which home seller would not want this to happen? None of course! Read more on Dave the property guy’s website.
